What is Brandi Worley’s background, and why did she murder her own children?

Brandi Worley Story

On November 17, 2016, a day after Jason Worley asked for a divorce, Brandi Worley viciously murdered her two children, Tyler and Charlee, there.

Jason fell asleep in the basement while Brandi brutally slashed their children in the neck before killing herself.

Without expressing any emotion, Brandi said to Jason, “Now you can’t take the kids from me.”

Brandi Worley cruelly murdered her kids

The knife was then allegedly hidden by Brandi in her son’s room, as reported by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Unaware of Brandi’s plans, Jason played with the kids for a bit before they went to bed.

According to The Journal Review, occurrences of filicide typically include abusive parenting. That didn’t seem to apply to 3-year-old Charlee and 7-year-old Tyler.

But when Brandi woke Tyler up on November 17, she asked him if he wanted to spend the night in his sister’s room. Brandi repeatedly stabbed Tyler as soon as they entered Charlee’s room.

Charlee even briefly woke up during the attack, but once Brandi reassured her that she was not involved, Charlee went back to sleep. Then Brandi killed Charlee with the same knife.

Brandi allegedly began self-harming after that and later declared, “I just wanted to die beside them,” according to the Journal & Courier.

She didn’t complete the task. The results of later autopsies confirmed that both toddlers had died from neck injuries brought on by knives.

Brandi Asserted That She Murdered the Children So That Her Husband Wouldn’t Take Them

According to The Journal & Courier, Brandi’s mother got a call and went over to the house after Brandi attacked Tyler and Charlee early on November 17. Around 4:30 a.m., Jason was awakened by his mother-in-screaming law’s as she found her grandchildren’s dead.

Jason was sound asleep in the basement until he heard screaming and hastened upstairs. The Journal & Courier said that Brandi turned to Jason and said, “Now you can’t take the kids from me.” She reportedly never expressed regret for killing her children.

After killing her two small children, Brandi called 911 and told the operator that she had also stabbed herself (per The Atlanta Journal-Constitution).

A Lifetime Sentence to Brandi Worley

After admitting it, Brandi was taken directly to the hospital to receive medical attention for her self-inflicted knife wounds. She discovered that Brandi had slain her children without feeling remorse after conversing with Montgomery County Sheriff Mark Casteel.

Brandi has never accepted guilt for what she did in November 2016, according to The Journal & Courier in 2018. Even Brandi’s defence attorney acknowledged that he was unable to explain why she suddenly snapped and killed them.

There might not always be an explanation, Montgomery County Circuit Court Judge Harry Siamas said during Brandi’s sentence. It’s dark in this world. And it penetrates our minds and hearts.

Brandi was sentenced to 120 years in prison for the two murder convictions—55 years for the killing of Tyler and 65 years for the murdering of Charlee—according to the Journal Review.

She has depression, and as a result, according to The Journal & Courier, she hasn’t shown any sentiments or reactions to the double homicide. She and Jason haven’t communicated since the terrible night Brandi killed the children, even though their divorce was legally finalised in March 2017.

According to the Indiana Department of Correction, Brandi is presently a resident of the Indiana Women’s Prison. It will be at least the year 2106 before her lengthy sentence is completed.
