Californians are the lucky winners of the $2 billion Powerball prize.
The $2.04 billion Powerball jackpot, a record-breaking sum, was won by one extremely fortunate person on Monday.
According to the California Lottery, the winning ticket was purchased from Joe's Service Center in Altadena, California.
According to the official Powerball website, the ticket was the only one to take home the grand prize.
The drawing for the massive Powerball jackpot on Monday night was postponed for many hours.
Because it took longer than expected for one of the participating lotteries to finish security procedures.
According to the Vermont Lottery, the drawing finally took place on Tuesday at 8:57 a.m. ET in Tallahassee, Florida.
The prize on Monday exceeded expectations and ended up being $2 billion instead of the predicted $1.9 billion.
The winning combination was Power 10: 10-33-41-47-56.
